Kirby: The Forgotten Land

There’s an adorable new controller coming your way from PowerA, a company renowned for creating fantastic Switch Pro-style controllers. Recently, it unveiled a new gem for its lineup, and it’s an absolute delight for any fan of the lovable puffball, Kirby – pepoh!

PowerA captures Kirby’s best side: Hungry

First reported by Nintendo Everything, the design of this controller is inspired by the “Mouthful Mode” mechanic from “Kirby and the Forgotten Land,” making it one of the cutest gaming accessories you’ll ever see. Looking as though Kirby has swallowed the whole controller, it depicts Kirby’s face right in the center. This is a stark contrast to the design of last year’s Kirby-themed controller by PowerA, which portrayed Kirby running against a backdrop of blue and pink hues with a golden star at the center.

Beyond its delightful design, the Kirby Mouthful Mode wireless controller also boasts a host of impressive features. This includes two mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons that you can program to your liking, precision-tuned analog sticks, a full-size d-pad, an LED indicator for player number, button mapping, and a low battery warning, among others. However, take note that this controller does not support HD Rumble, the IR camera, motion controls, or the Amiibo NFC.

Disappearing into a pocket dimension

This isn’t the first time PowerA has treated us with themed controllers. They’ve got an extensive portfolio of gamepads inspired by popular Nintendo franchises, including Mario, Pokemon, and The Legend of Zelda. These controllers are available in both wired and wireless formats, ensuring there’s an option for every type of player.

Starting today, you can preorder this adorable Kirby controller on Amazon for $44 USD. It becomes officially available on August 26th, so you won’t have to wait too long to add it to your gaming setup. One thing though – these specialty gamepads normally disappear faster than Kirby sends cake to a pocket dimension, so if you really want it, I don’t recommend sitting on your hands. What other specific PowerA controllers would you like to see in the future? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This looks so cute. Kirbys Dream Land was one of my favourite games on GameBoy back when I had a GameBoy Pocket edition. I was going to say Hello Kitty but maybe Kirby is pink enough. xD
