Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie

If you’re trying to collect as many retro games on your Nintendo Switch as possible without needing to subscribe to the company’s Switch Online service (or if you just want all the retro games regardless), then you’re in luck! Thanks to user Broski on Twitter, we were made aware that both Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series and PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ are currently on sale in the United States.

Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series

KLONOA is a 3D side-scrolling action game series whose first title was released by Namco in 1997.

Set in a unique universe populated by a range of original characters, the game follows the hero, Klonoa, as he sets off on a journey to save the world.

Klonoa has been dropped down 25%, giving you ten bucks off of its original price, and PAC-MAN is down to just $15 USD (Thanks Ryan Silberman). Both series are critically acclaimed, and are sure to give you hours of excellent gameplay. The former has been extremely popular, especially for those who grew up with it, and this version comes with both the first game (Door to Phantomile) and the second Klonoa game as well, which is called Lunatea’s Veil.

Unfortunately, the latter has badly compressed audio, some of the visuals look less good than the original version of the game for some reason, and Volleyball, Empire of Dreams, Dream Champ Tournament and Klonoa Heroes are all missing. Still, it’s a steal, and you should pick it up regardless.

PAC-MAN MUSEUM+

PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ includes 14 titles from the legendary PAC-MAN series!

Play all 14 legendary titles like the classic PAC-MAN and PAC-LAND, as well as the newly included PAC-IN-TIME and PAC-MAN 256. Whether you love the original PAC-MAN’s side-scrolling action or the puzzle genre, this collection has something for everyone!

Obviously, PAC-MAN needs to real introduction here – just know that Museum+ comes with 14 games, so you’re basically enjoying each for about a dollar a piece, which is a fantastic value. You can also play five of these entries with friends and family with local co-op gameplay or take turns passing the controller with a few others, just like the good old days.

I’d love to know in the comments whether you’ve played either of these collections in the past, or if you’re going to pick them up for the first time today.
