Metroid Fusion

Last month, Nintendo announced the release of Metroid Prime Remastered for the Switch, which has been a long-awaited fan favorite for years. This game has got gamers excited and wondering what other Metroid games they can expect. Fortunately, the company also announced last week during its Direct presentation that Metroid Fusion, a classic GBA game, would be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack! Well guess what, it’s finally here.

For those who pay extra for the N64, Game Boy Advance, and other additional benefits, they can now enjoy one of the greatest Metroid games ever released on handheld consoles. As of today, March 9, 2023, gamers can now access Metroid Fusion via the Game Boy Advance app on their Nintendo Switch, and dive straight into the action.

This game is one of the finest examples of the classic side-scrolling genre, and it’s sure to be a treat for gamers who appreciate retro titles. Seriously, it does so much well, and you owe it to yourself to go play it!

Metroid Fusion was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002 and follows the story of bounty hunter Samus Aran, who is infected with a parasitic organism called the “X.” Samus must navigate a research station and fight off the X while uncovering the secrets behind the Federation’s experimentation with the parasite. The game features classic Metroid gameplay, including exploration, platforming, boss battles, and gated progression, as well as new mechanics such as the ability to absorb abilities from defeated enemies.

It’s worth noting that tomorrow is Mar10, also known as “Mario Day,” and it will be interesting to see what Nintendo has in store for our favorite plumber. In the meantime, what are you waiting for? Go pick up your Switch and kill some parasites!
